Jason Wilson and The Perennials

Once again, two time Juno award nominee and best selling author, Jason Wison, graced the stage at McCloskey's! Along with The Perennnials, he incorporated jazz and Scottish influences atop a reggae foundation. Hope you were there for this!! This event was sponsored by Waterloo Brewery.

Figure Drawing Workshop

Figure Drawing Workshop for beginners! Participants learnt how to sketch and draw the human form in this one day intensive workshop. They explored different media; pencil, charcoal, and conté, and discovered artisic tools such as positive and negative space. Taught by Toronto artist Julia Shure (juliashure.com), this intensive course included lunch, as well as some materials. Can't wait for the next one!!

Classic Soul

The McCloskey Project was pleased to announce the return of Classic Soul to the stage of The McCloskey Hotel! All of you who came down and listened to the sounds of this classic band grooved into the night!

Grumpy Old Men and Guests

We celebrated Canada's 150th at McCloskey's with the Grumpy Old Men and guests.

Bordertowne Boys

Once again the Bordertowne Boys returned to The McCloskey Hotel! The Kings of Southern Fried Rock kept us shaking' into the night!

Mena Hardy

Southern rock singer-songwriter Mena Hardy thrilled us with her appealing retro groove. Her music can be heard on commercial radio, television and the film ‘Club Utopia’. She was the runner up for the coveted rock category in the John Lennon Songwriting Competition in 2012.

Brock Zeman

Brock Zeman came back by popular demand! He once again thrilled his audience at The McCloskey Hotel. We're glad to have had this talent, with his smoky folk roots rock return to our stage!

Sunpilots

Originally from Australia and now based in Berlin, The Sunpilots have quickly earned a reputation as a killer live act and one of the hardest working independent bands in the world. Since 2011 they've toured Australia, the USA, and Europe. The single ‘Spotlight in the Sun’ became the #1 most added song on Australian radio, and Apple featured another track as an iTunes Single of the Week. The band also became a North American college radio favourite and won ‘Best International Artist’ at the Toronto Independent Music Awards and ‘Single of the Year’ at the LA Independent Music Awards.

Furious Gord charmed the audience at The McCloskey Hotel for Art on the Waterfront's opening night! Man, they were great!!

Three Brothers Twice

Three Brothers Twice is grounded by an old folk tradition that extends fully into blues and rock. The band members believe in smiling, having fun and extending that joy to their audiences. We welcomed Three Brothers Twice!

The Joe Gaspar Band

We rocked the house down with the powerhouse blues trio, The Joe Gaspar Band!

The Weber Brothers

The Weber Brothers are the baddest band in the land! Over the past 15 years they’ve recorded 10 independent albums and toured extensively throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe. In 2012 they were invited to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame American Music Masters Tribute to Chuck Berry in Cleveland, where they shared the stage with Merle Haggard, Lemmy Kilmister, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, Rick Derringer, Joe Bonamassa, Earl Slick, Steve Jordan and the father of Rock and Roll himself, Chuck Berry.

Flaws

If you were looking for a mellow classic rock night... then you would have had to stay well away from McCloskey's! The boys came back, and it was furious!!

Waterloo Beer Tasting

A bunch of lucky folk got to sample a delicious Waterloo line-up, coupled with a tasting from McCloskey's upcoming menu.

Classic Soul

Another great evening was had at The McCloskey Hotel! Classic Soul rocked the house down, churning out quintessential vintage tunes.

Bella Cat

Bella Cat hails from Chelsea, Quebec. After her first independent release (Bella Cat Corrupted) she has been compared to a unique combination of Janis Joplin meets Eartha Kit, and is instantly recognizable as an original powerhouse that should be a contender on the international stage.

Sunday in the Country

DJs Soundtastic Productions entertained with classic country tunes all afternoon; proceeds went to the Food Bank. We supported a good cause, and had a great Sunday at the same time!

Signe Miranda & Rory Taillon

The brilliant melodies of Signe Miranda and Rory Taillon filled The McCloskey Hotel. Guitar, singing, and good times! Who could have asked for more?

Jimmy Tri-Tone

We listened to the melodious and resonant sounds of Jimmy TriTone; his folk and roots rock left the audience wanting more. Happy to have seen you there!

All the way from the T-Dot, we were honoured to have Michel DeQuevedo with Chris O'Neill grace our stage with their sexy and vibrant Latin and African rhythms; we partied until 5am!

Beach Party

There were prizes for best beachwear! Were you with us sporting your craziest flip-flops, sunhat, and using your umbrella as an accessory? If you weren't, you missed-out, because DJs Soundtastic Productions brought down the house!

 

Timeless CD Release Party

An intimate evening with Cory M. Coons and his special guest Michelle Arthurs. Cory debuted his new CD 'Timeless'; definitely was not a show to miss.

St. Patrick's Day

We had a rocking' good time on St Paddy's Day! We partied with the Bordertowne Boys well into the night; there was fine music, good company and plenty of St Paddy's cheer.

An 80's Valentine's Day Thing

The bangles went on and the mullets were let down! The crowd at McCloskey's on 11 February cut loose! That was an exceptional 80's Valentine's party!

Elementals, The Haig, A Staggering Pace

This was a super killer show. Really. Greasy as hell! If you weren't there, you missed out!

Bordertowne Boys

The Kings of Southern Fried Rock came to visit! A rocking' good time was had with the Bordertowne Boys.

Brock Zeman

What an absolute pleasure it was to have Carleton Place's Brock Zeman, accompanied by Chesterville's own Dylan Roberts on drums, grace McCloskey's stage. The standing room only, full house was enthralled by Brock's smokey folk roots rock. The night was a success! Watch for a repeat performance to give those who couldn't make it a chance to take part!

Tycoons and Tacky Christmas Sweaters

Tacky Xmas Sweater Party! Tycoons hosted a special Christmas Party at the legendary McCloskey's Hotel with tonnes of great classic and nostalgic rock from the 70's and 80's. A prize was given away for the Tackiest Xmas Sweater! Sponsored by Muskoka Brewery.

The Amanda Keeley Band

We rang-in the New Year with The Amanda Keeley Band and DJs Soundtastic Productions! Celebrated in style with great food, an abundance of bubbly, and party favours for all.

Playing classic rock, blues, and country, when The Grumpy Old Men get together everyone wants to come out and sing along.

The Amanda Keeley Band

Singer/songwriter Amanda Keeley and multi-instumentalist Markus Lloyd began combining their musical styles in April 2007 and haven't looked back since. Amanda and Markus are currently recording their first album at Tone King Records in Cardinal, Ontario.

Dr. Jason Wilson is a Canadian historian and two time Juno-Award nominated reggae musician. Known for incorporating jazz and Scottish influences atop a reggae foundation, Wilson is a multi-instrumentalist, though is perhaps best known for his piano skills.

Cory M. Coons

Cory Coons has been nominated three years in a row at the 2016 "Producer's Choice Awards" in the Male Singer/Songwriter and Solo Single categories, as well as the Rock Artist of the Year category in 2015. Cory also won the prestigious "Producer's Choice" for Studio Album of the Year in 2014 for his independent EP "Share a Little Time". Cory has been influenced by melodic rock, roots rock, and country rock.

Howl'Oween 2016

Halloween 2016 was a hit in Chesterville, due to The McCloskey Project's Howl'oween Party.
